Watch all the match highlights from this cracking division 1 clash between Redeemer Celtic and Bay Fc. The action started off at a furious pace and it was Bay who took the lead when Alfonso Crespo beat the offside trap and calmly took the ball past the keeper and fired into the net, Bay doubled their lead shortly when Stephen Woods went unchallenged in the 6 yard box and headed home, you could be forgiven at this stage if you thought it was going to be a landslide victory for title chasing Bay but Redeemer pulled a goal back when Ray McCann’s corner found Ryan Dillon and the forward made no mistake from close range to make it 2-1, game on! Redeemer were growing into the game now and must have felt luck was on their side when Bay had what looked like a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside, however they still found themselves 2 goals behind again when Paddy Connor passed the ball into the bottom corner following some great pressure and play from Crespo out on the wing. Redeemer went back straight on the attack and again pulled a goal back from a corner, this time Shane English rising highest to make it 3-2 and the game was back on.
The 2nd half saw Redeemer start the brightest but they could not turn the early pressure into chances and had to rely on their keeper and a bit of luck to keep the score 3-2, their pressure eventually did pay off when Ray McCann took a chance and ran in behind the Bay defence before rounding the keeper and calm as you like take his time before making it all square 3-3. The game went through a mad phase when players were getting too hot under the collar and this resulted in a number of red cards, 3 for Redeemer and 1 for Bay. In the end it was left to a teenager to take all the headlines as 16 year old sub Travis Crowley found himself unmarked at the back post to put his header into the net and put Bay back in front with only minutes remaining. The celebrations said it all as all the Bay players raced to the teenager to congratulate and celebrate with him. The ref played over 7 minutes of added time and Redeemer went close on a couple of occasions to grabbing a late equalizer but Kevin Mullen in the Bay goals kept the final header out to secure all 3 points for the away side.
