Watch (nearly all) the match highlights (missed 1st goal) of this division 2 clash between Johnstown Fc v Virginia Fc in the MDL Grounds last night. Johnstown got the scoring off in the 1st minute of the match against an under strength Virginia, who had just 11 players available on the night, but would have to wait until halfway through the 1st half to get their 2nd, they added a 3rd shortly and finished the half 3-0 ahead.
The 2nd half saw Johnstown take full control of the game and added to their score line with the goal of the game that included 16 passes before Alan O Brien turned his marker and fired into the far top corner. The floodgates opened and Johnstown went on to score another 5 goals in between getting 2 players sent off, with Virginia scoring their only goal of the game when their forward nicked the ball of the Johnstown keeper and scored what would only be a consolation goal. In what was a tough night for Virginia they should still take some credit out of the game, not only for the fact that they travelled with just 11 players available, but also the attitude in which they played the game, they didnt lay down and kept going even when they were well outplayed by a very slick and patient Johnstown side who kept possession very well and could proberly have won by a bigger margin but for the heroics of the Virginia Goalkeeper.
