Match Report.
The final league game of the season in the Premier Reserve saw the two top teams playing each other with a winner takes all scenario. If the match was to end in a draw then the two teams would have to play each other again in a playoff title decider.
 In what was a pulsating game played out in front of a large crowd of supporters Newfoundwell took the lead 15 minutes into the first half when Shaun Bannon got on the end of fine cross to place ball into the net. In the opening 20 minutes Newfoundwell deserved to be in the lead however Trim reacted well after they went behind. The combination of Anthony Craig and Dermot Higgins in central midfield proved pivotal to Trim making a comeback in the game. Trim had a chance to draw level when Higgins was brought down in the box after a break from midfield. Higgins took the resulting penalty but was thwarted by an excellent save by Newfoundwell keeper Steven Kermode. However 10 minutes later Higgins wouldn’t be denied as he equalised through a close range header from a set piece. Higgins went close to giving Trim the lead when he saw his shot hit the crossbar right on halftime.
The top two teams in reserve football again went back and forth in the second half of the match with Trim starting back after the break the strongest. However Newfoundwell finished the half strongest forcing the Trim keeper to pull of a great save from an excellent strike from Bannon leaving the full time score 1-1.

The two teams will now have to face each other again in a playoff title decider in what will be a fitting finish to the Premier Reserve.
