At a full NEFL committee meeting last night it was recommended that the season kick off date be pushed back a couple of weeks to the weekend of the 21st of March. The committee felt it had little choice as a lot of clubs had expressed a concern over being able to get their pitches ready in time due to the bad weather and heavy rainfall in recent weeks. this would have led to a fixture pile up in the first couple of weeks in the season and teams being forced to play 2 games in a week.

In other news it was also decided that the first rounds of the Kilmessan and O Neill Shield competitions will be a knock out round in order to get the league fixtures back on track due to the 2 week postponement of the start of the season.

Stay tuned as we will have the new league formations coming up later
