Kentstown Rovers will be playing Division 1 football next season after beating Carrick Rovers in the Div 1/2 Playoff game. Kentstown had to recover from a goal down to bring the game to extra time, and just when the game was looking like going to penos up came James Lynch to tap home from close range from a Matthew Poutch pass. It was a bit hard on Carrick, who could have been out of sight in the first half  but for some outstanding saves from the Kentstown keeper and he came to their rescue again in the second half when he saved a Carrick peno brilliantly down to his right hand side. Kentstown then had a goal ruled out for offside, which looked a couple of yards onside before Matthew Poutch scored the equaliser with a shot from outside the box. There would be no more goals in the 90 mins so the game went to extra time and with both teams still pushing for the winning goal it would be Kentstown and Lynch who came up with the finish to secure Division 1 football next season and spark wild celebrations from the Kentstown squad and supporters.
