Moneymore Football Club and Rathmullen Celtic are pleased to present the first annual Drogheda Shield, which will be competed on a yearly basis between the two clubs. The first event will take place at 1pm on Sunday 5th August 2018 in DIFE.
While the game itself will act as the final preseason friendly for both clubs, the game will also serve as a fundraiser for local charities, with Hannah The Warrior Princess being selected as this year’s charity. Players from both sides will be making a donation to the charity, and while admission to the game will be free, there will be collections at the gate for anyone who wishes to make a further donation to the cause.
We’re also looking to hear from any business who may wish to serve as a match sponsor, and if there’s anyone else who wishes to get involved in this event, please do not hesitate to contact either club via their Facebook page. Anyone who is providing a service towards this game has agreed to waive their fee (including referee’s, referee’s assistants, photographers, volunteers etc), which means 100% of the proceeds can be donated to the selected cause.
