Parkvilla took all 3 points away to Newfoundwell in the first league game of the season for both clubs. Parkvilla were out of the traps quickest and went 1-0 up and they doubled that soon after to signal their intent for the rest of the match. Newfoundwell came back into the game but as soon as they looked a bit more comfortable in the game Parkvilla added their 3rd goal when they were awarded a peno and it looked like game over, again the Well looked to get back in the game but could not seem to sustain any pressure on the Parkvilla goal. A mistake at the back cost the Well a 4th goal and the half would finish, Newfoundwell 0 Parkvilla 4.
Newfoundwell started the 2nd half on the front foot and dispite having a man sent off early in the half, they began to create some half chances and when a 25 yard shot struck the Parkvilla crossbar you could sense a goal was coming. That goal would come shortly after when Newfoundwell pulled one back and give them some hope of a comeback. Parkvilla regrouped after that goal and began to find that extra space from 10 men Newfoundwell. 10 became 9 shortly after when the Well keeper pulled back the Villa striker after he rounded him just outside of the 18 yard box. A good save was required by the stand in Keeper Derek Kierans to keep the scoreline down. The scoreline would remain the same dispite a couple of half chances from both teams in the final minutes, and sees Derek Coogans Parkvilla claim all 3 points in their first Premier league outing of the season.
